DEATH NOTE

DEATH NOTE

Hi, everyone...

Yeah, you can't bean anime reviewer and not review this, right?

So yes, this week's review is Death Note, the best anime ever, I am justice, bla bla bla. I know this is going to tick a lot of people off, but here it goes...

I do not like Death Note.

But before you guys start sending stupid and nonconstructive hate comments about how much of an idiot I am just because I dislike this ruined, popular anime, let's get a couple things straight:

First, I KNOW I should love it, and when I think back to it, there were a couple of parts where I did want to keep watching.

For example, when the main character, Light Yagami, first discovers the "Death Note (details later)", and tries it on someone, that was a pretty great scene.

Second, It's not that I HATE it, I just think it could've been better. This ranks #9 on my Top 10 worst anime for a reason, and I'm here to tell you why.
Now before we get any further, I will post basically the most amazing opening in anime history. Here goes...

Alright, as always I'll start with this plot that for some reason everyone likes, but I just cannot get into whatsoever, and it's also pretty bad.

So we start out with the most lovable kind of person in an anime, your typical high schooler, Light Yagami...

Who just happens to be the most stuck-up, emo whiner ever since Sasuke from Naruto became popular, and his entire base and character are centered around this one, stupid plotpoint that NOBODY LIKES!!
Don't believe me? Guess what it is, then. 5... 4... 3... 2... 1...

Time's up, I have to tell you!

Okay, so this whole character is centered around this complaint that he has with the world, being it is in a delapidated state (are you sure you're not talking about america, Light?) and he wants to make a change to it. Get this- the ENTIRE ANIME is about him just changing the worl-america!

Now with that character base, you must think that it's a great anime all by- okay, where's the cast rating on this thing?

I mean, Jesus, I haven't seen this much of an overrated character since Dark from D N Angel! All this guy ever does is moan and whine about how awful the state of the worl-america is in, and that he needs to do something about it, and every time he says it, he says a stupid and cheesy dramatic speech that lasts an entire fifth of the episode.

I mean seriously, who wants to see that!?

God, he's annoying.

Anyway, using my horrible subject-changing skills, I'll move on to the plot.

So after the people introduce Light, this whiner walks out of school on a regular day, and finds a strange book lying down in the grass, labeled "Death Note".

Light takes the book to his house, thinks it's fake, tries it out on someone, the guy dies in 40 seconds because the book is made by a creature called a shinigami that shows up in Light's bedroom and explains everything, put in short terms he's basically saying that if he writes a person's name in the book, they die, and so goes the rest of the anime.

Sorry, guys, I know that this is a bad post, but I just wanted to let you know that I don't like Death Note, and why. See ya.

BLEACH

       BLEACH

Hello, everyone! I know I haven't done a lot of shonen (Boy Manga) anime lately...

Well actually, I've only done one (Naruto)... and that one sucked... yeah... sorry...

But anyway, I wanted to claim back my manhood and do a post on, my 2nd favourite shonen anime of all time (1st being One Piece, guilty pleasure, I know.)...

BLEACH!! I really like this anime. Completely ignoring my old Top 5, I would probably put this in a #7 to #5 spot, depending on how the rest of the 1st season goes. :)

So before I post the intro, I've got to point something out.

"BLEACH" is in the Top 3 most-watched shonen anime in Japan, making it one of the most popular animes out there! Of course, Naruto and One Piece are alongside it, yet even though I like them all okay (One Piece  especially...) I feel as if they're both really overrated.

But with this anime, I just didn't get that. Bleach is just a solid anime with a rock-hard-cliche-shonen plot. Nothing more, nothing less.

But sometimes, that's just want you want. I know I was when I watched the first four episodes, because I really, REALLY liked it. A 7, maybe even 8/10.

Now, without further ado, the intro!! (I am really bad at changing the subject.)

Going right into the subject, I'll start with the plot. One of the glitches of the anime.

Ichigo Kurosaki, your typical high schooler, is basically a normal guy with a sweet haircut. This would be true, of course, if it weren't for his supernatural ability to see ghosts. A couple of people in his family can see them too, such as Karin, though she's a constant non-believer who is almost as annoying as the other Karin from Chibi Vampire.

Later in the first episode, Ichigo is in his bed, twiddling his thumbs, when suddenly a mysterious girl comes in his room. After a really funny scene that I won't spoil for you guys, Rukia (the mysterious girl) and Ichigo track a hollow (a ghost who is demented by demon, one of the reasons why the plot is such a shonen cliche) and, once again, after a really cool scene that I don't want to spoil, Rukia explains to Ichigo what happened.

Rukia, as a matter of fact, is a member of a facility called the "Soul Society", a community of basically ninjas (gee, how original) that help other ghosts "pass on" and also protect other ghosts from becoming hollows. As I said before, it's pretty cliche, but they do it really well.

So let's get to the characters.

The main character, Ichigo, is a redhead with an ability to see ghosts, and is a pretty cool character. He isn't sappy and never really cries, but he isn't exactly Guts from Berserk, either. this makes a good balance, and is quite the opposite of the main character in Clannad, Tomoya, who cried almost every episode. Had a good reason to, I guess, but it did get old, after a while.

The main heroine, Rukia, is an aggressive member of the Soul Society who helped Ichigo defeat that hollow I was talking about earlier in the first episode. basically a tomboy, Rukia gave all of her powers to Ichigo while striken down by a hollow. This means Ichigo takes care of the fighting, and Rukia gives advice.

There's also two other characters, Chad and Orihime, who I won't get into, because they're really well done side characters.

But what I feel about the anime altogether? I really dunno, I think it's a great anime, to say the least, but it's not really my type.

But overall, I love the anime, and that's the bottom line. I'd love to talk a little more, but I'm having a Thanksgiving's Eve party soon, Don't wanna miss it!

CHOBITS

CHOBITS

So some of this "Chobits" stuff may be a little surprising to the fifty people who have actually come across this blog. This anime has a really strange plot, characters with surprisingly awkward backstories and the wierdest character designs I've seen since "One Piece".

But to me, that was wasn't important, really. Yeah, it might have effected it to some extent, but not nearly as much as the really big problem I have with this show. I won't say it directly, because I know there has to be a Chobits fan out there somewhere who will be offended, so I'll just give you all a BIG hint...

...and I thought Ouran High School Host Club was perverted.

Okay, so although I have now clearly stated that this is one of the most perverted animes and shows in general out there, I actually taught myself to feel that this is, in spite of all the dilemmas, a half-decent anime.
I'll get it out of the way, I think this show deserves a solid 6/10. I'm sorry, guys, but yes, I am a dude, and yes, I truly think this anime is not half-bad.

So before I get into the plot, let's post the utterly obnoxious intro here, which is also a pretty off part about the show.
Now that we've got that out of the way, let's start with the plot.

College freshman Hideki Motosuwa is walking home from school one day and comes by a persecom, a humanoid robot who is manufactured to look like a teenage, really cute girl (one of the reasons why this show is so perverted), dumped out with the rest of some trash bags. Not able to leave her, Hideki takes persecom to his apartment, when later in the series he names her Chii, after the only thing she ever says the first three episodes. I know, it's beyond stupid, but they put it to good use.

A liitle ways later, Hideki takes Chii to basically a "persecom doctor", an expert on persecoms who, in fact, uncovers a piece of detail about Chii, being that she could be a "Chobits", a certain mtyhical type of persecom who hosts incredible powers. This is really when Hideki starts to like Chii, and I think you can guess what happens afterwards.

Now let's get on with the characters.

Surprisingly, there are only two main characters in this series (No deja-vu here). There's Hideki, your average schoolboy who is, to be honest, has a really bland backstory. You wanna hear it?

He was a farmer.
That's obviously so amazing you guys are laughing!

Now Chii, the persecom, was actually my favorite person in the show. She has a cool and cute design (You see her at the beginning of the review), she has a great storyline, and lastly, she provides comedy, emotion, and fan service! What more do you need!?

So technically, this is it. Chobits, I'd summarize as, is a simple (not really), to-the-point love story that pretty much every girl on the planet, and some guys like me, will all like to some extent. If your into futuristic drama, mixed with a little emotion and love, you should definitely check this one out, because, believe it or not, is a pretty decent anime.

CLANNAD (re-upload)

CLANNAD

Hello, all!

Now as you can see from the title, this is a re-upload of a pretty sucky anime review of my personal ever-lasting favorite anime and show in general, CLANNAD.

Alright, let's get started!

Okay, so Clannad is made by the artist who goes by the name of "Ki" who has also made three other animes, being: 'Angel Beats! Air, and Kanon.' Two of which are now in my top five anime! (Angel in 2nd, Kanon in 4th.)

So first I'll post the intro of the anime itself below. o_O
Anyway, Let's start with a plot.

High-school average student Tomoya Okazaki has had a rough life. His mother died when he was very young, and when this happened, his father took up many unhealthy habits, such as depression, drinking, and child abuse...
and the only reason I say "child abuse" is because he hurt Tomoya's arm when he was twelve, never allowing him to play any sports with his right hand again. T_T

But one day, when walking to school, Tomoya bumps into a quiet senior named Nagisa Furukawa, the main heroine. I won't spoil anything, but to put it bluntly, this chick changed his life, my life, and everyone who has watched CLANNAD's life. That is how flawless this character is, no exaggeration whatsoever.

As the story progresses, Tomoya and Nagisa not only spend more time together, but also make a few more friends along the way, such as Youhei Sunohara (the pervert) Kyou and Ryou (The twin sisters who love Tomoya, this minor plot making some humorous and tear-jerking moments) Kotomi Ichunose (The genius who is probably my favorite girl in the series) and Tomoya Sacagami (A karate master who is also in love with Tomoya) and ALOT more!!

Now let's talk about how I feel about it.

I LOVE THIS ANIME!!!!!! Aside from a few minor problems, this anime is picture perfect. I said 9/10 in my previous review, but after finishing the anime, I give this anime a 1,000,000,000/10! (Yeah, I may be exaggerating a teensy-weensy bit, but I still love the anime.)

So I will end this review with a comment:
THE VOLUME OF THE SECOND SEASON'S SADNESS IS THROUGH THE ROOF! NO SERIOUSLY, IT MAKES L'S DEATH LOOK LIKE A KID IN "BARNEY" FELL AND HURT HIS PINKIE AND I MADE A BIG MISTAKE WATCHING IT BECAUSE I CRIED IN BED THAT NIGHT DON'T WATCH IT!!!!!!
